Crop cultivation is a practice much dependent on climate. The recent changes in climate have brought current-day agriculture to the bank of timely changes in cultivation practices for keeping the continuity of food production. The greenness of our living environment is also interrelated with the use of agricultural inputs which seeks further attention to induce smart practices. In this light, the Agrotechnology Discipline of Khulna University is going with research and academic activities for the last twenty-five years. It is offering courses encompassing different branches of agriculture including crop and livestock. The Discipline emphasizes the available greener technologies in academia and research.
Smart innovations in agricultural practices for crop production, postharvest operations, storage, and marketing are meager to be addressed. Keeping these in projection, the Agrotechnology Discipline of Khulna University is going to host an International Conference on “Climate Smart Agriculture and the 4th Agricultural Revolution” to be held on 19-20 October 2023. It would allow scholars from different corners of the world for sharing and disseminating smart ideas to improve the production of agricultural commodities by maintaining a greener environment in the era of climate change. Bangladesh, particularly the southwest coastal region of the country has already been recognized as a climate-vulnerable area in the world. Thereby, it is expected that the conference would bring strategic ideas for sustainable agricultural development in Bangladesh and the world as well.
